Elementary Music Program

Welcome to our Elementary Music page! Our program is designed to help students explore, create, and develop a lifelong love of music. Each grade level builds new skills while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

3rd Grade Music

In 3rd grade, students explore the foundations of music through hands-on instruments and engaging activities.
Students learn:

• Xylophone technique and simple melodies

• Recorder fundamentals (breath control, fingerings, reading notes)

• Rhythm, pitch, and ensemble skills

 

4th Grade Music

In 4th grade, students broaden their musical abilities and begin composing their own music.
Students learn:

• Ukulele: chords, strumming patterns, and song performance

• Xylophone: harmony, scales, and ensemble playing

• Composing: creating original rhythms and melodies using classroom instruments and music notation

 

 5th Grade Music

5th grade is an exciting year when students choose an instrument from the band or orchestra to focus on for the entire year.
Students learn:

• Instrument-specific technique

• Music reading and ensemble rehearsal skills

• Performance readiness for concerts and events
